Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medsurg Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Med/Surg background. Step-down experience preferred.

Description: All submits must include a driver's license with a current permanent address. The float pool includes all inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, step-down, and medical/surgical. Ratios depend on the unit: Med/Surg = 1:6, Step-down = 1:4/5, ICU = 1:2/3. Common diagnoses include cardiac patients, ortho/neuro, surgical, and medical. RNs are required to titrate drips in the step-down areas only. Common titratable and set rate drips include heparin, cardizem, nitro, cardene, insulin, dobutamine, dopamine, and others. Charge Nurse and House Supervisor are available, with free charge day shifts Monday to Friday. House supervision is done 24/7. There are nurse aides on these units with set ratios. Respiratory equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP can be present in all units, while vents are in ICU. Chronic trach vents may go to step-down. Telemetry monitoring is available with monitor techs present. RNs in the CVU read their own strips. Scheduling involves a call to the staffing office for daily assignments. Standby requirements may exist if the census is low. Scrub color/dress code is royal blue. Staffing includes a robust PCT float pool. Charting is done using EPIC. No call or standby requirement unless census is down. Cancellation policy allows for client-initiated cancellations.
