Internships Internships for Law Students–Fall 2026 Remote The Liberty Justice Center offers an unparalleled educational opportunity for law students eager to contribute to a cutting‑edge public interest law firm. As a national nonprofit, nonpartisan litigation center, we proudly represent clients at no charge, fighting to protect the Constitution and America’s founding principles across all fifty states. Our impactful litigation portfolio includes critical work on workers’ rights—building on our landmark victory in the 2018 U.S. Supreme Court case Janus v. AFSCME— as well as educational opportunity, free speech, and economic liberty. For example, our V.O.S. Selections, Inc. v. Trump lawsuit challenges the Trump Administration’s authority to unilaterally issue the “Liberation Day” tariffs, which are devastating small businesses across the country. The lawsuit argues that the Administration has no authority to issue across‑board worldwide tariffs without congressional approval. The Liberty Justice Center is not your typical public interest law firm; we focus exclusively on precedent‑setting work, strategically selecting cases that can achieve the most good for everyday Americans. Liberty Justice Center interns play an integral role on our dynamic team. From day one, interns are mentored by an experienced constitutional litigator and are assigned substantive work from our unique and high‑impact case portfolio. Interns engage in intensive legal research, develop sophisticated legal writing skills, review information from prospective and current clients, prepare correspondence on behalf of the firm, and may also perform investigative and discovery work as well as other crucial litigation duties. Legal interns gain invaluable insight into the day‑to‑day operations of a leading public interest law firm—and an understanding of what differentiates this type of law practice from others. Best of all, interns work alongside a high‑achieving team motivated by a shared belief in protecting Americans’ fundamental rights in some of the most important and interesting constitutional cases in the country. Successful applicants demonstrate a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and the drive to put in the effort to achieve excellence. They also share a commitment to classical liberal principles, including individual liberty, limited government, and the free market. Interns are expected to work 40 hours a week. Liberty Justice Center interns are paid $20/hour. Interns work remotely. Fall interns generally work from September through mid‑December, though exact start and stop dates are flexible in most circumstances. Fall internship applications are due by August 15, 2026.
