Extended Care Teacher
University Christian School is seeking a caring and dedicated Extended Care Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students beyond the regular school day. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, supporting their academic and social growth, and fostering a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage students in a structured extended care program.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment that reflects Christian values.
- Assist with homework, enrichment activities, and playtime.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
- Ensure proper check-in and check-out procedures for students.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Uphold the mission and values of University Christian School in all interactions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred.
- Prior experience working with children in a school, childcare, or ministry setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to Christian values and the mission of University Christian School.
- Must pass background screening requirements.
Schedule
- Afternoon and early evening hours on school days (schedule may vary).
- Up to 15 hours per week.
