2027 Legal Summer Internship Program

UWM's 12-week internship program offers an immersive experience with around 200 interns, job shadowing, access to senior leaders, and extensive networking opportunities. The Legal and Compliance Summer Intern will play a vital role in supporting the legal and compliance teams at UWM. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in legal research, compliance analysis, and regulatory matters within the mortgage sector.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Conduct legal research on various regulatory topics affecting UWM's operations. Assist in the review and drafting of compliance-related documents, policies, and procedures. Support the legal team in preparing materials for compliance audits and internal meetings. Help maintain and organize legal and compliance documentation and databases. Assist in the monitoring and analysis of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the mortgage industry. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on compliance strategies and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by members of the legal and compliance teams.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2027 or 2028 (current junior/senior status) The ability to work Monday-Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from May 17th - August 6th Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a team environment A strong work ethic A drive to succeed
