The interpreter will provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in classrooms, meetings, and other educational settings to ensure equal access to instruction and services. Assignments may include: Interpreting verbal communication for teachers and students during lessons and activities. Facilitating communication between students, educators, and support staff. Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) where communication is involved. Maintaining accurate records of interpretation sessions and substantiating hours worked. Participating in professional development and training as required by the district. Levels of Interpreters Level I – HS Diploma or GED; EIPA Score 1.5‑2.9 or 2 years of college coursework in an interpreting or ASL program. Salary range $19.49‑$20.99 per hour. Level II – HS Diploma or GED; EIPA Score 3.0‑3.4 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Salary range $19.98‑$21.52 per hour. Level III – HS Diploma or GED; EIPA Score 3.5‑3.9 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Salary range $20.48‑$22.07 per hour. Level IV – HS Diploma or GED; EIPA Score 4.0 or higher, or National Certification with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID). Salary range $20.99‑$22.60 per hour. Qualifications Citizenship, lawful residency, or work visa required. Valid ASL interpreter certification or equivalent experience as described in the Levels of Interpreters section. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and support staff in a school environment.
