Lead Systems Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree and at least 9 years of IT or related experience
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III/8140 expert-level certification, such as SecurityX, CASP+, or CISSP
• DoD 8570 computing-environment certification, such as AZ-802, VCP, or equivalent, within six months of hire
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, or 2025 and Windows 10; administering Exchange, Active Directory, workstation and server hardware, Microsoft Office 2010 or 2016, DNS, Group Policy, and PKI; administering vSphere or Horizon View, backups, and antivirus software; basic networking, including DHCP and TCP/IP; deploying workstation images; and working with thin or zero clients
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, HP SANs, or VMware products
• Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, on-premises Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Preferred: Working knowledge of security best practices from DISA or vendors
• Preferred: Basic systems infrastructure, hardware, and networking experience
• Preferred: Experience deploying workstations and thin or zero clients
• Preferred: Scripting experience or willingness to learn
• Current or active Top Secret clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph
• Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office to access equipment or communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, including potentially delivering presentations

• Provide Tier III IT systems support across Microsoft servers and applications, including Exchange, SQL, IIS, Certificate Services, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy; Windows desktop operating systems; secure printing; VMware vCenter; and Horizon View
• Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and technical issues affecting these platforms
• Develop standard operating procedures for recurring tasks
• Participate in all phases of the ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting change requests
• Gather and analyze requirements and support integration for the platforms listed above
• Lead experienced Systems Engineers and guide less-experienced team members
• Investigate and resolve operational issues with other engineering teams and technical staff
• Contribute to project teams engineering and packaging releases for integration into the customers production IT environment
