About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical Resource Pool Nurse – North Dakota**Start Date:** November 16, 2026 **Location:** Fargo, North Dakota **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation; 36 or 48 hours per week (overtime billed after 48 hours); daily assignment to various units within the medical surgical cluster

Highlights:

• Dynamic float pool opportunity across multiple medical surgical units including oncology, general med-surg, trauma, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
• Level 1 trauma center experience in a fast-paced, acute care environment with 250+ beds
• Flexible floating across multiple campuses providing diverse patient care experiences
• EPIC electronic medical record system utilized throughout the facility
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day shift (7a-11p) and 1:5-6 during night shift (11p-7a)
• Comprehensive orientation program including hands-on training shifts at multiple locations and campus tours

Requirements:

• Active North Dakota RN license or Compact state license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience in a busy large hospital (minimum 200 beds)
• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers considered only with primary Resource Pool/Float Pool background
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification
• Experience working in a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Willingness to float within the medical surgical cluster and between multiple campuses
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility location

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments
• Administer medications via multiple routes
• Formulate and document individualized care plans
• Provide wound, line, and drain care management
• Utilize Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals monitoring equipment
• Daily call-in to receive unit assignment for shift
• Care for medical surgical patients across specialty units ranging from 24-47 beds depending on assignment
