Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Consulting Pathologist Assistant to join our healthcare team. This is a one-year contract position with the potential for flexibility in hours between 9am and 8:30pm. The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant and will either be PA(ASCP) certified or eligible to pass the PA(ASCP) within 12 months of hire. Responsibilities: The Consulting Pathologist Assistant will work under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Anatomic Pathology, Director of Operations, and/or the Clinical Specialist – Supervisor. Primary responsibilities will include the description, photographing, and grossing of specimens and assistance with frozen sections. The Pathologists' Assistant may also assist with administrative functions including the preparation and administrative maintenance of protocols, procedures, reports, data, and instruments. Additional duties may include administrative, budgetary, teaching, and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and have successfully completed a Pathologists' Assistant program accredited by the NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences). Candidates must also have at least one year of experience working as a Pathologists’ Assistant and a strong work history in this role. While PA(ASCP) certification is not required at the time of hire, candidates must be eligible for certification within 12 months. Candidates must also be currently working as a Pathologists’ Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital department in our healthcare organization.
