VB.NET developer

Experienced VB.NET/ASP.NET Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced VB.NET/ASP.NET developer who can quickly operate with minimal technical oversight to modify existing and/or create new functionality. Note: Initially candidate will work remotely. When the State of NJ goes back to working on-site, the contractor will also be immediately required to work on-site. No exceptions. The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of relevant development VB.NET (11.0 or higher)/ASP.NET experience and should also possess the following qualities:

• Possesses a self-starter work ethic to learn the business context quickly and immediately make an impact by delivering solutions in a short-time frame.
• Has a solid knowledge of SQL Server database technologies, particularly experience with SQL queries and SSRS.
• Able to analyze business requirements to determine appropriate solutions for the customer's needs.
• Capable of estimating and scheduling one's own work to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Able to provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
• Experience performing functional testing and debugging.
• Able to investigate operational or systematic problems and evaluate user questions as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow all department standards and methodologies.
• Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of interacting and communicating effectively with all levels of staff, management and other customers.
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly, in writing and verbally, in one-on-one and group presentation situations.
• Able to work well both individually and in a highly collaborative team environment.
