About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM Must-Have: - OB, Mother/Baby, and Labor & Delivery experience - Ability to circulate and triage fetal heart monitoring Description: Holiday coverage is required; however, any requested time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. No requested time off during the first two weeks of the contract. Patient ratios follow guidelines for staffing. Additional requirements include the ability to work in all areas of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum. Will float to house sitter as needed and to other facilities when necessary and if census allows. No on-call duty is required. The unit consists of 15 beds with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. Responsibilities include providing antepartum, labor and delivery care, OR circulating, acting as scrub nurse, newborn nurse at delivery, and couplet care. Nurses are also responsible for performing lab draws and hearing screens on newborns. Scrubs will be provided, and training will be given to complete newborn infant hearing screens using the designated machine. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Extensive interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit handles cases involving neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults.
