Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Super Products is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic at its facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA . The Mechanic will perform service and repairs on truck-mounted vacuum equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Position Summary Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. This position requires occasional travel for field service and repair calls and attendance at required training. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing equipment, with electrical and hydraulic diagnostic experience preferred. Chassis work is limited to routine preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and fuel, fluid, and lubrication requirements. Essential Functions Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Effectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air, and water systems. Conduct all repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment to "Ready to Rent" status. Perform and document "check in" and "check out" inspections of fleet equipment. Maintain and organize shop and storage areas, ensuring Super Products standard of excellence is met. Effectively complete all documentation of work performed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) Solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment (preferred). Strong mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics. Ability to administer DOT inspections. Basic/computational skills related to position. Excellent organizational and multi‑tasking abilities. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively both in a team and independently. Self‑motivated, accountable, and timely in all assignments. Must own and supply a basic set of hand tools and storage box; company will provide all large and specialized tools. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. Minimum three (3) years, verifiable experience as a mechanic. Experience with electrical and hydraulic diagnosis or truck‑mounted vacuum equipment -- required. The pay range for this position in California is $28-$34/hour; base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Relocation not available for this position.
