Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets, and overseeing the entire estimation process from initial blueprint review to final pricing. Your expertise will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining excellent client communication and fostering strong negotiation skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead projects with energy and precision, contributing to the growth of our construction operations.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to interpret project scope and material requirements accurately.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost management strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to communicate project scope, estimates, and timelines clearly and professionally.
• Oversee the estimation process for multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct construction site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate estimations.
• Review construction contracts, manage change orders, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Lead efforts in estimating material requirements from blueprints and technical drawings to optimize cost efficiency.

Experience

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
• Demonstrated ability in cost control, material cost estimating, and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Solid understanding of construction management processes including contracts, project management principles, and site safety protocols.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Construction industry experience emphasizing estimation for commercial projects with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels of the project lifecycle.
