IT Enterprise Backup Administrator

Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced IT Enterprise Backup Administrator to join our IT Platform Services team. The role offers a hybrid schedule (remote/onsite) after training, which takes place at the RBFCU Administrative Service Center in Live Oak, Texas. Applicants must reside in Texas and be able to work from a private, secure home workspace with reliable internet connectivity. Responsibilities Operate, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot all components of the enterprise backup system to ensure functionality and efficiency. Plan, design, and implement backup procedures, policies, and storage provisioning to align with company goals. Maintain backup and recovery systems, including Commvault Enterprise and attached storage platforms. Support backup storage space, OS, file-level, VSA virtual, SQL Server, and Oracle database backups and restores. Prepare backup reports, documentation, and service level agreements for management review. Collaborate with business, technical staff, and management to develop backup and recovery strategies that meet RTO/RPO requirements. Configure, test, and verify restoration procedures. Apply security updates, patches, and remediate missing updates as reported by Information Security and vulnerability management systems. Perform after-hour call responses and related duties as required. Adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and execute additional duties as assigned. Requirements Associate’s Degree or equivalent of two years of work-related experience. Minimum 3 years of backup application support and engineering experience. Experience with Commvault Simpana. Proficiency with Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies and principles. Experience with Citrix VDI technologies and principles. Understanding of storage area network technologies. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy concepts. Working knowledge of IT security vulnerability management best practices. Understanding of networking concepts. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, and the general public.
