Senior Director of Operations, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Full Time, Days Jackson Memorial Hospital Department: Jackson Memorial Hospital Administration Address: 1611 NW 12th Ave, Miami, Florida, 33136 Position Summary The Senior Director of Operations for Jackson Memorial Hospital serves as a key operational leader for the largest medical campus within Jackson Health System. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for campus‑wide support services, including Environmental Services (EVS), Patient Transportation, Food and Nutrition Services, and Operations—encompassing building services, capital projects, and construction activities. The Senior Director is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing systemwide initiatives that enhance efficiency, safety, and the overall patient experience. This leader fosters strong cross‑functional collaboration, promotes staff engagement, and partners closely with clinical and administrative leaders to support high‑quality patient care across the campus. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Performance Improvement: Identify opportunities for systems‑level improvements across designated services, using data‑driven evaluations to inform resource allocation, service enhancement, and workflow redesign. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring continuous improvement in cost‑effectiveness, regulatory readiness, and customer experience. Lead the execution of strategic initiatives that align operations with broader organizational goals and evolving care models. Team Development and Operational Accountability: Supervise operational leadership and frontline teams across departments; provide coaching, performance evaluation, and opportunities for career development. Promote a culture of engagement, compliance, accountability, and service excellence among employees. Lead recruitment and retention efforts, including the design and execution of employee engagement strategies. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure facility readiness and operations in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations—including Joint Commission, AHCA, OSHA, and infection control standards. Maintain documentation, audit response protocols, and emergency preparedness plans to support ongoing accreditation and inspection readiness. Communication and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between operations and other internal departments—including Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, and Patient Experience—to align goals and resolve issues. Facilitate transparent communication with executive leadership on operational risks, achievements, and improvement priorities. Financial Management: Develop and manage annual capital and operating budgets for non‑clinical services within the service areas. Monitor productivity, cost performance, and asset utilization to support fiscal responsibility and long‑term sustainability. Other Responsibilities Represent JMH Operations in strategic planning meetings, leadership forums, and system‑wide improvement efforts. Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support growth and operational excellence. Qualifications Required Education and Experience Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required. Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree is strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an academic medical center or public healthcare system. Core Competencies Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
