Mechanical TechnicianJob Title - Mechanical Technician - Work Schedule - Equal RotationDepartment - Production - Work Location - HKN Syria Field Operation – Rmelan FieldReports to - Maintenance Manager - Start Date - To be confirmedSubordinates - Not Applicable - Application Deadline - July 14, 2026Employment Type - Open Contract - Other details - Three months' probationPosition Summary and Scope of ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Technician will be responsible to the Maintenance Superintendent for the safe, efficient & cost effective operation of HKN assets. They will perform preventive and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on mechanical, utilities and associated systems and equipment. The ability to work in and understand the limitations of extremes of weather. Remote site and camp based position requiring the candidate to work 3 weeks on by 3 weeks off rotation with flexibility to move to 4 weeks on 4 weeks off if required.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure the safe and efficient operation of allocated asset, static and rotating mechanical equipment and associated systems. Implementing planned maintenance programme directly reporting to Maintenance superintendent. Diagnosing and rectifying faults to maximise equipment availability, identify spares requirement and initiate ordering of same. Monitoring and controlling works by vendors/contractors within his/her remit. Conducted isolations and de-isolations within the discipline. Ensuring trainee's progress to full competency within their allocated discipline.Minimum QualificationsMust have previous experience in a lead mechanical role with exposure to all aspects of maintenance in oil and gas processes. Minimum 5 years experience with oil and gas industry.Working and Other Reporting RelationshipsWork closely with all other site personnel activities to ensure safe and efficient operational activities. Ensure production personnel are fully aware of all ongoing and planned activities. Supervise and coordinate trainee's activities. Ensure site supervision is fully briefed on ongoing and planned activities. Produce daily and weekly reports. Submit to Maintenance Supervisor.Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications RequiredOND / ONC/ HNC/HND or equivalentSpecial Requirements and ConditionsMust be self-motivated, proactive and able to demonstrate their ability to work within a small operations team structure. A pre-requisite is the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written. Experienced in working with Maintenance and Material Management systems. Industrial training mentor and assessor qualification preferred. Able to work well within an international and multi-cultural environment. Strong communication skills. In depth understanding of technical safety practice.
