Director of Business Development

Hirewell's client is looking for a Director-level business development professional who knows retail real estate from the inside out—and has the track record to prove they can turn that knowledge into new assignments. The mission is straightforward: originate new business for third-party retail property management and leasing. You’ll identify owners of retail assets. You’ll reach decision-makers, understand what their properties need, and earn the opportunity to bring them to the table with company leadership. Brokers and property management execute, you originate . Building a targeted pipeline of retail property owners and decision-makers. Turning thousands of cold calls and outbound touches into real conversations, qualified meetings, and executed assignments. Recognizing an owner’s needs through a rent roll, a site visit, or a direct conversation—and articulating a compelling reason to engage. Converting operating and leasing expertise into a repeatable, disciplined business development engine. Maintaining a CRM where every owner, conversation, follow-up, and next action is documented and retrievable. Using AI as a practical, everyday production tool—not just something you’ve experimented with. We measure results, not activity. Meetings held with owners and assignments executed matter. Dial counts alone don’t. Outbound prospecting: Extensive cold calling directly to property owners, with verifiable results and assignments tied to your efforts. Retail leasing experience: Landlord representation, tenant prospecting, and lease negotiation. Retail property management experience: Owner reporting, tenant relations, property operations, and CAM reconciliation. AI fluency: Evidence that AI is embedded in how you produce results every day.
