Staff Accountant – Train for Future Financial Leadership with a Civil Construction Leader

Job Overview:

• Company: Landcore Builders LLC.

• Salary/Pay Rate: $25 to $30 per hour plus Profit Sharing.

• Location: Milton, WV (Onsite).

• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

• Project Scope: Commercial and Industrial (Civil & Heavy Construction)

The Opportunity: You will embark on a unique career path designed to transition you into a Financial Controller role through direct mentorship from our current leadership. This is a rare chance to master the financial complexities of the civil and heavy construction industry while being groomed to lead our accounting department upon our Controller’s retirement. You will have the opportunity to move beyond basic bookkeeping into high-level strategic financial management.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable cycles to ensure precise cash flow tracking across all construction projects.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly to maintain 100% financial accuracy.

• Coordinate with project managers to track job costs and analyze project profitability in real-time.

• Support the preparation of quarterly financial statements and tax filings under the guidance of the Controller.

• Implement internal controls and accounting procedures to protect company assets and streamline operations.

• Analyze financial discrepancies and provide data-driven solutions to optimize project spending.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of related accounting or bookkeeping experience.

• Solid understanding of core accounting principles including debits, credits, and general ledger management.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.

• Proven ability to handle sensitive financial data with extreme detail and confidentiality.

• Commitment to a long-term 3-5 year leadership development and succession plan.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience with QuickBooks or specialized construction accounting software.

• Familiarity with job costing concepts specifically within the industrial or commercial sectors.
