Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an RN-ICU Float for a Level I Trauma academic medical center requiring WI or compact RN license and multi-ICU critical care experience.

Job Details

• Critical Care Float position covering multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgical ICU, and IMC/Progressive/General care populations,
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730, with every other weekend rotation,
• Some holiday coverage required,
• Floating required as needed across ICU units,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Level I Trauma academic medical center setting,

Job Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only),
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred,
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to,
• 5 years of experience preferred,
• Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months,
• Academic Level I Trauma center experience required,
• Previous charge experience preferred,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Skills required include IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CRRT/CVVHD, and management of dysrhythmias,
• Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post craniotomy/neurosurgery care preferred,
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall passing score,

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple specialized ICU units within a Magnet-designated academic medical center,
• Facility is ranked the #1 hospital in Wisconsin and recognized as a leading teaching and referral center,
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted,
• Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course,
• All references must be removed from candidate profiles prior to consideration,
• Previous travel experience required
