Radiologic Technologist PRN

Position Overview PRN Radiologic Technologist – Work under the direction of a Provider and Clinical Director at In & Out Urgent Care, assisting in delivering healthcare to patients at multiple urgent care locations in Metairie, Mandeville, and Covington. Pay: $26 per hour. Shift requirements: Work at least 5 shifts per month, including 12‑hour shifts on weekdays and 8‑hour shifts on weekends, with willingness to work at other urgent care locations as needed. Job Duties Prepare patients for x‑ray, explain procedures, and set up room, equipment, and materials. Position patients and obtain quality diagnostic images. Develop, mark, and file x‑ray images and reports; burn images to disc when needed. Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to limit exposure, adjust equipment controls, and determine proper kVp and mAs. Observe patients and machines during procedures, report unusual occurrences, and document patient condition. Prepare charts for patient appointments, document procedures performed, and enter information into the electronic medical record. Clean and disinfect x‑ray rooms and equipment; maintain and order DME supplies. Perform routine x‑ray exams and x‑ray quality assurance tests, maintaining quality assurance records. Assist with front‑desk check‑in as needed and support providers with triage, injections, phlebotomy, and general patient care. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of an accredited radiology technology program. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist preferred, but not required. Knowledge of specific OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures. Six months of x‑ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures. Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology. Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate. Ability to work 12‑hour weekday shifts and 8‑hour weekend shifts, including holidays; rotating weekends; and work at other locations as needed. Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records. Typing speed of 60 words per minute with 96% accuracy. Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills. License and Certifications Current certification and/or state licensure in radiology technology in Louisiana required.
