Role Description TITLE: Customer Service Representative DEPARTMENT: Operations FLSA: Hourly (Non-Exempt) POSITION LEVEL: Line SCHEDULE: 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri This position is temp to hire. Conversion from temp to regular FTE will be evaluated after 6 months. Position Objective Provide customer service and assistance to customers, outside sales, and operations teams. The position will report to the Branch Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities Not required for this role Essential Functions Initiate outbound calls to customers to discuss products, solutions, and potential value adds Participates in promotional campaigns, effectively conveying special offers, discounts, and promotions to customers Answer incoming phone calls, disburse messages, and manage email flow Submit sales orders to the appropriate software Understand the ERP application at a beginner level Perform customer service functions Enter direct ship orders and purchase orders into the applicable program Understands and interprets technical language regarding pump sizing, including GPM, TDH, power requirement voltage, phase, amps Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification Experience Required Experience in a customer service environment that handles both inbound and outbound phone calls Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level Experience in agricultural, residential, or industrial pumping Experience with rotating equipment, liquid pumps, and motors Quick thinking, active listening, and adaptability: maintaining a positive and resilient attitude Persuasion and negotiation: guiding conversations smoothly and shaping customers’ hesitation into value Analysis & problem-solving: ability to work independently with little direction Detail oriented: identifies defects and ensures compliance with specifications Technical Aptitude: understands and interprets technical language regarding pump sizing, including GPM, TDH, power requirement voltage, phase, amps Communication: able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to internal and external customers Initiative: takes ownership of work without being asked Flexibility and adaptability: ability to work in a fast-paced environment Education Required High School diploma or equivalent required 1 to 2 years of previous experience in inside sales or customer service roles Physical Requirements Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds Ability to work overtime The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually moderate This position is not eligible for telework Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
