JOB SUMMARY The incumbent in this position is responsible for the effective development, management, integration, and execution of all Promotions and Special Events at Horseshoe St. Louis Casino, including but not limited to cash and merchandise giveaways, tournaments, highend events, and gift programs designed to develop and cultivate new and existing slot and table games players. HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY ((The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for specific positions.) 1. Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor subordinate personnel. Recommend wage increases, promotions, demotions, discipline and other employment actions for subordinate personnel. 2. Understand department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve effective management of department. 3. Develop, plan and execute all promotional programs and special events for Horseshoe. 4. Prepares pro-formas on promotions and events to determine worthiness. Monitors financial figures for future promotions. 5. Performs post analysis of efficiency and profitability of all promotional programs and special events. 6. Hosts guests and accommodate their needs within program guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage return visits. 7. Communicates goals and needs in order to facilitate planning for property's promotional programs. 8. Complies with MGC and property's standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintains administrative processes to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of department functions. 9. Meets and communicates with other departments to facilitate planning for fulfilling their casino promotion and special event needs such as F&B, Décor, Construction, Direct Mail, Cash giveaways, negotiating vendor contracts, securing high-level prize insurance, MGC regulations, etc. 10. Researches, contacts and arranges for vendors to execute special needs. Oversees all outside vendors in the execution of agreed-upon contracts. 11. Communicates all promotions to the surrounding St. Louis market by closely working with Database Marketing and Advertising departments. 12. Determines equipment necessary for activities to ensure the timely procurement of necessary parts and that par inventory is maintained; coordinates the upkeep and maintenance of equipment to ensure proper operation. 13. Secure high-level prize insurance. 14. Effectively plans, organizes and prioritizes a heavy workload with competing priorities. 15. Maintains a level of professionalism that will make guests want to return to Horseshoe. 16. Anticipates the guest's needs and responds appropriately with a sense of urgency. 17. Actively works as a good will ambassador of Horseshoe. 18. Effectively communicates with management in order to fulfill and address any issues. 19. Assist the marketing staff with the execution of marketing programs. 20. Performs other duties as assigned by management. 21. Assist the marketing staff with the execution of marketing programs. 22. WHAT YOU WILL NEED • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license • Knowledge of federal, state and gaming laws and regulations • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word • Strong strategic and analytical skills. • Thorough knowledge of and experience in promotions planning and execution preferably within a casino environment with a minimum of 3 years experience. • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, journalism, communication, advertising or related field preferred • In-depth understanding of the management and operations of all casino and tourism business. • Superb organizational skills

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising or Public Relations or related discipline and a minimum of three years experience in promotions preferably within a casino environment or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

- Provides excellent guest service.
- Executes promotions inside casino and assists guests participating in promotions.
- Creates an atmosphere of fun and excitement for guests.
- Assists with the execution of invitational events and promotions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing business levels and values the differences of others.
- Ensures that promotion/event areas are stocked with necessary supplies, decorations, and secures items at conclusion of promotion/event.
- Ensures collateral material for promotions and events are displayed prior to and recovered at the conclusion of each project.
- Tracks inventories and expenses for each assigned project.
- Maintains record keeping for each project including tracking reports and analysis.
- Displays a professional demeanor and willingness to assist guests.
- Constantly seeks ways to improve friendly and helpful service and reduce guests waiting time to positively impact department's guest service ratings.
- Ensures integrity and confidentiality of all guest's data.
- Complies with all state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Deliver and pick up promotional items when necessary.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Licensed and authorized to execute promotions on the gaming floor.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested.
- Will be responsible for the coordination and execution of all promotional programs and offerings in accordance with all regulatory approvals. This includes all aspects of coordination as listed in event checklists, and potentially hospitality events if the situation arises.
- Works closely with internal and Corporate departments, plus external vendors, to ensure that deadlines are met for events. This includes submitting all necessary request forms as management has requested
- Has a sense of ownership for all aspects of their role and ensures that all documents are filed, promotional programs are created, post reports are sent, and audits are completed.
- Proactively communicates promotional information to internal and corporate departments.
- Must have the ability to execute programs that deliver excitement and provide a service experience that meets department expectations.
- Has a "team-work" mentality for the department and property which means showing a willingness to train new team members and lend a helping hand.
- Ability to be physically mobile, and stand/walk for 8-to-12-hour shifts.
- Must always present a professional appearance and demeanor.
- High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Minimum 1 - 2 years previous experience in the hospitality, events, retail or casino industry preferred.
- Well-groomed and outgoing personality required
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Proficient in excel and Microsoft office knowledge at an above level
- Flexible schedule to work scheduled events on weekend and holidays, any day of the week and any shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
- Thrive when working with a team. PHYSICAL& MENTAL:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items when necessary.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a typewriter, computer, and 10 key adding machine, photocopy machine, fax machine, and telephone.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino, including in and around Pit areas.
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest's demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of property and department policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, bright lights and dust.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
