Together. .This position has a base compensation range of $85,000.00 to $105.000.00. Salary determination considers your skills, experience, job location, internal pay equity and job architecture. The Airfreight Supervisor - Healthcare will supervise the product team for his/her assigned area of responsibility. He / She will be responsible for that team’s product compliance, quality outcomes to internal and external stakeholders, volume and revenue growth, yield, operating efficiency, with a specific focus on productivity and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as a liaison between the client, vendors and government agencies • Actively pursues feedback from team members and customers to identify opportunities to increase service levels, productivity, and profitability • Acts as senior product subject matter expert • Analyzes service failures across multiple departments and actions or escalates findings to ensure their timely resolution and preventative measures are being taken (i.e. billing discrepancies, claims, delays…etc) • Assigns tasks as required to internal departments based on the nature of the request • Confirms shipment-level profitability and escalates any loss-making or low margin files • Controls commercial documentation required for export or import declaration and other regulatory agencies or requirements (AES, DPS, Hazmat, AMS) • Monitors file profitability and escalates pro-actively to product and sales management to ensure that quoted services and pricing are adjusted to achieve profitability • Monitors, assigns, and ensures the resolution of any accounts payable issues within area of responsibility • Provides management with objective feedback regarding vendor performance levels, escalates issues in a timely manner to ensure best level of service • Responsible for the export compliance including Denied Party Screening and AES filing • Responsible for the resolution of external billing disputes and collections ensuring their timely resolution • Measures, analyzes, and improves external or internal KPIs for area of responsibility • Validates product staff understand and comply with customer and company standard operating procedures • Manages staffing levels based on business development, peak volume periods, department performance metrics, and employee vacations • Assists management by proactively providing input on talent acquisition, re-assignment, demotion, and promotion • Conducts regular employee performance review meetings and sets performance goals to drive employee development • Ensures all assigned employees are trained, certified, and re-certified periodically • Performs other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position supervises employees and may supervise temporary employees from time to time based on projects. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • Preferred to have either an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement • High School Diploma or GED required • Minimum five years of experience in the airfreight export role required • Two years of prior experience in a supervisory role preferred • Completion of any industry related course is an asset KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES • Organizational skills • Time management and prioritization • Customer-focused • Adaptable / flexible to high-pressured environment • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, and Internet • Proficient in world geography, shipping documentation, and Incoterms preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English in order to present information to customers, management, and subordinates in a professional setting • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, and other percentages • Analytical skills / problem-solving ability • Leadership skills – able to train, coach, and develop subordinates PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: • Frequently required to stand, and walk • Regularly required to sit for extended periods • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
