Associate Director of Nursing, Labor and Delivery (Perinatal Safety)

About This Role The Associate Director of Nursing for Labor and Delivery is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services and education programs within the hospital. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders looking to make a significant impact in maternal health. Highlights Location: Brooklyn, NY Facility: Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center Department/Unit: LABOR AND DELIVERY UNIT 7000 Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift What You'll Do Perform all duties of the Director of Nursing in their absence. Participate in developing philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of nursing service and education. Assume responsibility for developing and implementing a staffing plan and directing recruitment and selection of personnel. Develop, plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate assigned projects and programs. Assist the Director in preparation of personnel, supply, and equipment budgets for nursing. Plan, direct, organize, and evaluate programs of orientation, training, and continuing education for nursing personnel. Direct the evaluation of personnel performance. Participate in developing and maintaining relationships with community, labor, and professional groups for new nursing programs and policies. Oversee day-to-day operations of nursing service. Assess nursing services by making rounds, conducting chart reviews, and evaluating patient care. Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State Experience A Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, or an equivalent field with a minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which must be in a supervisory, teaching, or administrative capacity; or A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with seven years of satisfactory nursing experience, five years of which must be in a supervisory or teaching capacity.
