About the Position

Description: This is a Med Surg position in a hospital setting. The unit consists of 20 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1. Technical and secretarial support is available on both day and night shifts. The hospital utilizes various equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, and feeding pumps. Documentation is managed through Meditech. Nurses are required to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends. Floating policies dictate that contract labor staff are the first to float, with a rotation system in place when multiple staff are on schedule. Patient experience is a priority, and compassionate care is expected from all nursing staff. The nursing staff will conduct bedside shift reports and engage with patients and family members regarding their care plans. Certification requirements include Basic Life Support. Uniform required is navy scrubs, both tops, and bottoms. The hospital is recognized for its stroke care, trauma services, and chest pain management.
