Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Maryville, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and an active IL RN license.Details\n \n Emergency Department setting caring for all patient age groups from neonates through geriatrics\n Handles all types of ED presentations including trauma, cardiac, neuro, and ortho cases\n Patient ratios up to 1:5\n Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00\n Weekend coverage required every third weekend\n Uses Pyxis medication system, MediTech documentation system, and Vocera communication system\n 13-week assignment length\n Requirements\n \n Active IL RN license required\n BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred\n Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required (hard stop)\n MediTech charting experience preferred\n Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs\n Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management\n Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias\n Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring\n Experience with interpretation of ABGs\n Experience caring for CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, and near drowning patients\n Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use\n Arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ventilated patient care experience preferred\n ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience preferred\n Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI, and Stroke Certified Facility experience preferred\n Triage experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Care for a combined adult/pediatric ED patient population\n Navy blue scrubs required\n Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Local candidates accepted at the same rate\n Former employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers at any point\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-754810.
