Freight Handler/Forklift Operator

The Material Handling Agent is responsible for processing, verifying, and shipping materials while maintaining inventory accuracy using warehouse management software. Key duties include loading and unloading freight, conducting cycle counts, labeling shipments, and ensuring compliance with safety and reporting procedures. Position: Material Handling Agent / Forklift Operator Compensation $22.00 - $24.31 per hour. Core Responsibilities & Duties Process all aspects of materials using warehouse inventory software Label and ship orders according to established procedures for each customer Accurately pick and weigh all shipments Inspect freight and follow appropriate reporting procedures Assist with inventory and cycle counts Rotate and re-stock shelves according to inventory procedures Verify all inbound and outbound materials Provide prompt and accurate customer service Arrange and maintain filing and recording systems Document monthly activities for period end reporting Safely load and unload trailers by utilizing equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts Shrink wrap freight pallets Maintain a clean and safe working environment Other duties as assigned Job Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum of 2 years' experience of general warehouse knowledge Excellent customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication Computer skills, including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Warehouse Oracle Database Experience is a plus Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds Forklift Certification preferred Ability to work under minimal supervision Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and managers What We Offer Competitive base salary Paid time off within the first year of employment, sick time and holidays Company provided life insurance Health, vision, and dental insurance options Commuter benefit plan Optional supplemental life insurance 401(k) Wellness program A great place to work with a terrific culture #J-18808-Ljbffr Forward Air Corporation
