Inside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer

Summary The Inside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer will originate permanent residential mortgage loans through the bank's Digital Platform and support the entire First Interstate Bank footprint by managing inbound calls and online mortgage inquiries. This fast‑paced, high‑volume, leads‑provided role offers a competitive base salary and per‑unit incentive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Handle all inquiries and leads from First Interstate Bank digital platforms (phone, email, and website), branch referrals, and self‑sourced opportunities. Conduct consultative selling, learning clients’ housing goals, needs, and timelines, and recommend available loan options. Convert leads to full applications, submit complete loan applications, and provide proper documentation to the processing team. Set and maintain realistic expectations with all parties; apply Ability To Repay guidelines as set by First Interstate Bank and the investor. Obtain and analyze credit reports, understand data and approval implications, and lock in interest rates when requested or approved. Manage the lead pipeline to ensure timely contact with all parties and meet departmental key performance indicators. Navigate the loan origination system, ensuring full compliance and meeting all requirements. Pass a pre‑employment screening against the Limited Denial of Participation (LDP), GSA Excluded Party List System (EPLS), and Freddie Mac Exclusionary List. Have strong customer service skills and thorough knowledge of the mortgage process. Know FHA, VA, RD, state bond programs, and conventional real‑estate regulations. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree required. 4–6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 4–6 years experience in residential mortgage lending, including handling complex loans, preferred. Licenses and Certifications Valid Driver's License required. Physical Demands and Working Environment Dexterity of hands/fingers to operate computer keyboard and mouse – Frequently. Sitting – Frequently. Standing – Occasionally. Noise Level – Moderate. Typical Work Hours – M‑F (8‑5). Regular and Predictable Attendance – Required. Compensation & Benefits Competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. Anticipated pay range: $23.61 to $35.42 per hour (in Colorado and Washington). The role is eligible for commission and/or incentives as applicable.
