Data Scientist - Trial Surveillance & Analytics (Hybrid)

AbbVie seeks a data scientist to develop AI-enabled analytics solutions for clinical trial surveillance and safety monitoring. The role involves designing automated reporting workflows, applying machine learning to clinical data, and collaborating across teams to deliver actionable insights that support drug development and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand surveillance and analytics needs and develop scalable solutions
• Build analytical products and AI-enabled workflows supporting trial surveillance and safety assessment
• Apply statistical methodologies and machine learning to generate insights from clinical trial data
• Develop and maintain integrated analytics platforms, data pipelines, and reporting solutions
• Use agentic coding and generative AI to improve statistical programming and migrate legacy code to R

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science, or equivalent field
• 2-5 years of experience in data science, analytics, statistical programming, or related disciplines
• Proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical languages and packages
• Intermediate knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques
• Experience with visualization tools such as Spotfire, PyDash, Plotly, or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to develop automated reporting and end-to-end analytical solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional team environments
