Senior Manager, Trial Surveillance & Analytics (Hybrid)

AbbVie seeks a Senior Manager for its newly formed Trial Surveillance & Analytics center to design and build data pipelines, analytics platforms, and AI-driven solutions that detect safety and efficacy signals in ongoing clinical trials. The role combines statistical programming, data science, and clinical domain expertise to deliver end-to-end surveillance capabilities that study teams actively adopt and use.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to frame surveillance problems and design solutions for adoption
- Design and build integrated data pipelines supporting safety and efficacy signal detection across studies
- Develop automated reporting, dashboards, and self-service tools for study teams and safety colleagues
- Apply generative AI and agentic systems across analysis workflows; measure improvements in time and quality
- Lead cross-functional projects and coach team members; communicate results to diverse audiences
Requirements
- MS with 8+ years or PhD with 4+ years in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, or related field
- Production-quality programming in R, Python, SQL, and version control systems
- Demonstrated hands-on experience applying generative or agentic AI to analytical work with measurable results
- Working knowledge of clinical trial data standards (CDISC SDTM/ADaM) and/or real-world data sources
- Track record of building and sustaining analytical tools adopted by end users
- Strong communication skills explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
