Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Nebraska Methodist Health System.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have experience in a similar-size facility and setting.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be allowed if it works for unit needs and schedule.

Unit Details: - Treatment volume varies by day and may range from 10 to 30 treatments, with scheduled and PRN treatments performed per protocol assessment. - Mainly adult patients, some pediatrics, and rarely neonates; critical babies are stabilized and transferred to Children’s Hospital in Omaha. - Covers inpatient Med-Surg, ER, and ICU. - Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, nebulizer and breathing treatments, inhaler teaching as needed, vent management, BiPAP, heated high flow, and EKGs when the diagnostic department is closed. - Assists with intubation rather than intubating independently. - Uses Draeger vents, V60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, and Respironics CPAP.

Shift & Scheduling: - May flex up or down; travelers must be flexible. - Every 3rd weekend for day shift (Sat/Sun). - No call; extra open shifts may be offered for sign-up when there are call-ins or additional staffing needs. - Holiday Requirements: If traveler available & wants to work a holiday they could

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
