About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid state or compact nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - IV start experience - Telemetry experience required Description: This position involves working in a PCU Float Pool during the day. The role may require floating to other units as needed. Floating within units of equal or lower acuity is also expected. Estimated patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4. The candidate should have experience managing various telemetry and cardiac care protocols. Essential skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Experience with starting and maintaining IVs is necessary. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips without titration is required. Experience with telemetry on the unit monitoring is needed. Candidates should be skilled in the care and management of central lines and chest tubes. Additional skills should include phlebotomy, pre/post hemodialysis management, and procedural sedation administration. The position involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations with a variety of diagnoses. Candidates will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams. Flexibility to cover weekend shifts may be required based on unit staffing needs.
