Senior Diesel Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Nesco Resource is seeking a Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Technician in Coeymans, NY. Our client is an industry leader in Construction and Maritime services. We are seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Technician to join a growing team supporting heavy-duty trucks and equipment operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in diagnostics, repairs, leadership, and keeping equipment operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced engine, transmission, and differential repairs/replacements
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and after-treatment systems
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software such as Cummins, CAT, Volvo, and other platforms
- Complete DOT inspections and certify repairs
- Repair air systems, hydraulic systems, and electronic brake systems
- Conduct road tests, calibrations, and post-repair inspections
- Support field service work and emergency roadside repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
- Help monitor maintenance scheduling, equipment reliability, and repair trends
- Maintain organized tools, parts inventory, and clean work areas
- Mentor and support junior technicians
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical school training in Diesel Mechanics or related field preferred
- 5-8 years of heavy-duty truck or equipment repair experience
- Strong diesel diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with OEM diagnostic software platforms
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
- CDL-A preferred
- Inspector's License preferred
