Accountant II

Job Description: The Accountant II is accountable for monthly closing process, assessing budgets and providing recommendations to department managers and Sr. Leadership with minimal supervision. Oversees and supports productivity reporting, benchmarking relationships and make recommendations as appropriate. Assists with the development, monitoring and reporting of statistical data in conjunction of other staff members. Participates in the preparation of annual cost report, meeting regulatory reporting requirements and survey completion. Participates in the preparation of annual cost report, meeting regulatory reporting requirements and survey completion. Required Skills Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Working knowledge of computer and accounting systems. Ability to utilize thorough knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to utilize financial analytical skills effectively. Ability to apply oral and written communication skills effectively. Ability to utilize organizational and management skills effectively. Ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of Healthcare accounting and/or budgeting preferred. Work Experience: Three years Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Budgeting experience required; preferably in a hospital accounting setting. License/Registration/Certification None.
