Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sterile processing and demonstrate expertise in various departmental functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of instruments and items, including drills, Davinci systems, and scopes.
• Assemble and package instruments across all service lines, including trauma and loaners, as well as peel packaging.
• Execute sterilization processes utilizing both Sterrad and steam sterilization methods.
• Demonstrate high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope processing experience.
• Maintain sterile storage and ensure adherence to proper storage protocols.
• Act as an OR liaison, facilitating effective communication and workflow between departments.
• Utilize the Censitrac tracking system for instrument and supply management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile processing in a healthcare facility comparable to a Level One trauma facility.
• Certification as either a Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM).
• Familiarity with all areas of sterile processing is required.
• Must be able to float to other locations as needed and work night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional holiday scheduling.

Eligibility Restrictions

• No travel pairs are permitted.
• Previous permanent staff and return travelers are ineligible to reapply within the system.
• Travelers who have completed the maximum one-year contract are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.
• Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the care facility are not eligible. Current contractors within this radius may complete their existing contract and may extend up to the one-year maximum limit.
