Telecommunications Technician

We are currently seeking individuals for the following positions: Telecommunications Technician This is a skilled position responsible for assisting in the programming, installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications equipment and low voltage structured cabling. The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for going on service calls to customer worksites and ensuring that world class customer service is delivered to our customers, while performing necessary work required to repair, maintain, and service the customer’s telecommunications equipment and low voltage cabling infrastructure. Physical Requirements & Job Environment: Requires working both inside and outside under varying conditions of heat, cold and confined spaces. Must be able to drive to customer worksites, stand for long periods, sit, bend, stoop, climb ladders, crawl and manually lift 50 lbs. Essential Job Functions: Perform a variety of communications equipment installation, repair and maintenance at remote sites. Install, Terminate, Test and Troubleshoot Cabling (Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, and Fiber) for new construction and existing buildings. Ensure that all service tickets are complete and fully accurate and turned in to Sales & Service Coordinator for invoicing. Assists Sales & Service Coordinator with any questions or concerns regarding tickets. Assist with the counting of inventory on a monthly basis and at year end. Perform other related work as required. Required Skills & Experience: In-depth knowledge of traditional and server-based business telephone systems, voice message systems, computer telephone integration, voice, network and data cabling. Two or more years of on‑job experience and training in the telecommunications field, as it relates to the performance of the job functions above. Professional demeanor; ability to represent the company with integrity. Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact diplomatically and tactfully with customers and other employees. Demonstrates the initiative and creativity for self-development within and outside of the company. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Educational Requirements: High school diploma/GED. Vocational education in a technical electronics and/or electrical program preferred; or equivalent experience may be substituted for training requirements. Information Technology Specialist This is a skilled position responsible for performing technical duties in the operation of enterprise, client/server and desktop computer systems and networks. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for going on service calls to customer worksites and ensuring that world class customer service is delivered to our customers, while performing necessary work required to repair, maintain and service the customer’s data network. Physical Requirements & Job Environment: Requires working primarily inside and sometimes in confined spaces. Must be able to drive to customer worksites, stand for long periods, sit, bend, stoop, and manually lift 50 lbs. Essential Job Functions: Assists customers to resolve problems with computer hardware and software. Respond to queries either in person, over the phone or by email. Maintain performance of computer systems through backup, recovery and systems monitoring. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems. Ensure that all service tickets are complete and fully accurate and turned in to Sales & Service Coordinator with any questions or concerns regarding tickets. Assist with counting inventory on a monthly basis and at year end. Perform other related work as required. Required Skills & Experience: In-depth knowledge of operating systems hardware architecture; enterprise operating systems; network operating systems concepts; automated operations applications; principles and practices of effective communication. Demonstrates the initiative and creativity for self-development within and outside of the company. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Educational Requirements: Two (2) years of experience performing enterprise and/or client/server work for a small to medium scale computer system under advanced operating systems. Of the two (2) years’ experience, one (1) year responsible for operating the enterprise, client/server or network and related peripheral equipment. An Associates of Arts degree in computer science or completion of a certificate program that is equivalent to the major coursework for an Associate of Arts degree in computer science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
