Occupational Therapist (OTR) - Part-Time

Location: Munster, IN Job Type: Part-Time Setting: Outpatient Rehabilitation

We are seeking a dedicated, flexible, and motivated Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join an outpatient rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have experience treating upper extremity conditions, including post-surgical and non-surgical orthopedic diagnoses, and helping patients restore function and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat upper extremity deficits based on physician diagnoses and occupational therapy orders.
• Guide patients through range-of-motion (ROM) and strengthening exercises 2-3 times per week to maximize the function of the affected upper extremity.
• Complete progress notes and discharge documentation as appropriate.
• Remove sutures from the hand, wrist, or forearm and provide patients with a home exercise program during single-visit appointments.
• Fabricate custom splints or functional casts for upper extremities and educate patients on their proper use and care, as indicated by physician orders.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist (OTR) license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; new graduates will not be considered.
• Experience treating orthopedic and upper extremity conditions preferred.
• Splinting and functional casting experience highly preferred.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification is preferred but not required.
• Candidates with additional relevant certifications are encouraged to apply.

Patient Population

• Joint replacements
• Tendon and ligament tears
• Generalized weakness
• Upper extremity joint or muscle pain

Schedule

• Preferred working days: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
• Monday-Thursday clinic hours: 7:30 AM-7:00 PM.
• Friday clinic hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• Patients are scheduled for one-hour evaluation appointments.
• Follow-up appointments are generally scheduled every 30 minutes, with longer sessions arranged when clinically necessary.
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.
