This includes development, integration, qualification, testing, producibility, and transition to production of the obsolete parts as well as the Multi-Year Procurement (MYP) efforts to increase yearly MSE missile production rates. The successful candidate will report to the Lower Tier IAMD Chief Engineer Director programmatically and be expected to lead the PAC-3 Hardware Chief Engineering and technical teams as well as work closely with the other members of the LTIAMD Chief Engineer staff to ensure synergy across tasks and to communicate lessons learned.As the PAC-3 Ev Dev Hardware Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for:Leading technical efforts while ensuring accelerated execution of subsystem design, producibility improvements, qualification, and transition to production to increase production rates of PAC-3 missiles per yearLeading successful demonstration of program development and customer milestones to include program technical reviews, system analyses, electrical and mechanical hardware design, integration/test, design verification testing, qualification, flight testing, and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)Actively manage obsolescence of parts, components, and materials used in the manufacture and maintenance support of the PAC-3 Missile SegmentDeveloping and nurturing a productive partnership with the USG customerGuiding other PAC-3 Hardware Chief Engineers, IPT leads, technical leads, and cross-functional teams in program planning, scheduling, trade studies, design concepts, verification, and critical life cycle reviewsEnsuring program staffing is appropriate from an E&T perspectiveCollaborating with Engineering Excellence management to ensure program milestones are successfully completedSupporting and leading program technical reviews and participating in monthly E&T meetings, staff meetings, and other critical program activitiesCommunicating lessons learned and ensuring synergy across tasks with the entire Chief Engineer staffAccountable for all aspects of engineering and technology activities within a program, program area, or line of business to ensure mission milestones and business objectives are met. Serves as the primary technical authority / technical interface with internal program management and external customers. Ensures proposals have sound technical solutions and schedules and drive affordability. Leads a technical team of cross functional engineers to ensure successful proper system/product development and execution. Evaluates and ensures complex issues are resolved in a cost effective, innovative way. Champion mission success and drive a mission success culture. Directs a team into exploration of new problem solution areas with novel concepts and approaches, guiding scope definition and prioritizing problems for investigation. Determine appropriate risk posture and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects. Ensure selected designs are robust and include appropriate margins to facilitate safety, performance, producibility and operational availability/supportability. Ensures program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices. Responsible for key decision making that impact businesses, the failure to achieve the objectives result in critical impact of program capabilities. Ensures identification of lessons learned, and corrective action are initiated and implemented to improve future and ongoing programs. Provides technical mentoring and career development support of team and allocates resources effectively. Leads and directs the technical execution efforts of the program or LOB.Basic QualificationsHave a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, with existing professional experienceExperience and demonstrated skillset with requirements, development, integration/test, production, and qualification activitiesFamiliarity and knowledge of Air & Missile Defense systems, and interceptors is strongly desiredFamiliarity with PAC-3 Systems Engineering, and PAC-3 Hardware Release processes is strongly desiredCandidate will be required to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the USG customerMust be available for occasional domestic travelCandidate must have a Secret clearanceDesired SkillsAn advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is desiredPrior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is highly desiredWorking knowledge of dealing with subcontractors and subcontract technical management is a plusCandidate should have wide experience/familiarity in collaborating with the Engineering & Technology functional organizationAbility to interface with the USG Customer office and global supply baseAbility to support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locationsExperience in leading Failure Analysis and Failure Review BoardsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $182500.00 - $338900.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
