Senior Personnel Specialist

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit (01 ), and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.


Under the general direction of the Personnel Supervisor II, Transactions and Benefit Services, Human Resources (HR), the Senior Personnel Specialist is responsible for personnel and payroll transactions, benefits, and leave accounting of an assigned roster and serves as the subject matter expert and coordinator for a full range of personnel and payroll transactions and functions related to temporary leaves including, but not limited to, Non-Industrial Disability, State Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, and Catastrophic Leave. The incumbent is expected to become increasingly independent consistent with training and on-the-job experience. The incumbent may be required to travel to the institutions, as necessary.

This position is located in HR, which delivers innovative programs and services that attract, cultivate, and serve a diverse, highly-qualified workforce. California Correctional Health Care Services' (CCHCS) HR professionals provide outstanding customer service, provide tools and resources for job development and advancement, and ensure fairness and accuracy in all aspects of HR.
