Steel/Plate Fabrication Receiving Lead

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Receiving Lead to join our production team. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in managing the flow of steel materials and finished products in and out of our facility. The ideal candidate will come from a structural steel, plate work, or fabrication background and understand the physical and operational demands of working in a steel production environment. This is NOT a "Pick & Pack" warehouse position, nor is it a desk job! Key responsibilities include overseeing all receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments using forklifts or cranes as needed, verifying incoming materials and matching against purchase orders or packing lists, organizing and managing inventory of raw materials and finished goods, preparing materials for outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation, coordinating deliveries and pickups with drivers and logistics providers, maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards, and working closely with production, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure material availability and accuracy.

Requirements include 5+ years of shipping and receiving experience within a structural steel, plate, or pipe fabrication environment, previous experience in a lead or senior-level shipping/receiving role preferred, comfort working in a hands-on, physical environment, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, material specifications, and related documentation, forklift and overhead crane experience preferred, familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer applications, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
