PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Emergency Department Patients

• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 28,000 Annual ED Visits

• Admissions: As Required

• Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

• Acuity: Level III

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 15 ED Beds (149 Hospital Beds)

• Trauma Level: Level III

• EMR System: Epic

• Specialty Backup Available: Hospital-Based Specialty Support

• Support Staff Available: 16-Hour NP/PA Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Rate: TBD

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Standard Emergency Medicine Procedures

• Completion of Sedation Modules During Onboarding

• Completion of Sedation Modules During Reappointment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Active Unrestricted Louisiana Medical License, DEA License with Louisiana Address, Louisiana Controlled Substance License, and Supervising Physician License for NP/PA Oversight

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine

• Active DEA License Required

• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS Required for EM Board Eligible Physicians (AHA Preferred); If ABEM Certified and Actively Participating in MOC, Merit Badges Not Required

• Experience: New Graduates Accepted

• Other Qualifications: Residency Completion in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine; Documentation of Case Logs for the Past 2 Years; Proof of CME Completion for the Past 2 Years; Must Meet Supervising Physician Requirements for NP/PA Oversight; Flu Vaccine, TB Screening, and COVID Vaccine Required; Malpractice Coverage of $100K/$300K Plus LPCF Enrollment Required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide emergency department physician coverage

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients

• Supervise NP/PA providers in accordance with Louisiana regulations

• Perform emergency stabilization and management of acute conditions

• Complete accurate documentation within Epic EMR
