This full-time permanent position is headquartered at the WisDOT main distribution warehouse located at 3617 Pierstorff St. in Madison, WI but will travel very regularly for work purposes making deliveries to various DOT regional offices throughout the State.

Position Summary

Duties of this position include distribution of general supplies to various state offices, processing material request orders, warehouse maintenance and providing transport services for outside state agencies. This position is currently responsible for 60% of all the DOT materials distribution within the state which is comprised of three (3) primary routes broken into the northeast, north central and northwest state regions consisting of 90 various DOT customers ranging from Division of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Service Centers, DMV Headquarter offices, Division of State Patrol (DSP) Posts, Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) Highways Operation, DTSD Sign Shops and DTSD Signal Maintenance facilities.

Additional duties may include picking and packaging customer orders and transportation of surplus materials. This individual is also responsible for picking up priority highway road samples, confidential records and distribution of highway letting plans that require timely delivery. Periodically, the employee will be required to deliver state highway maps to the State Capital and various welcome centers throughout the State.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (insert) with a salary of $19.05 per hour (or $19.44 per hour beginning on 6/28/26), plus excellent benefits . A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This position will travel very frequently operating a straight truck (on average up to 3 days per week) delivering to various DOT locations throughout the State, which may involve driving in adverse weather conditions for long periods of time.

Upon hire, this position requires the ability to meet DOT Fleet driving standards which also includes a minimum of two years driving experience with a standard class D, driver’s license.



The position also requires the physical ability to utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, carts and ladders or similar throughout the day; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, stoop, twist, pull and push; climb up and down ladders; and reach overhead to pull and place boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must detail having experience performing all of the following in order to be considered:

• Conducting inventory/supply processes or activities (such as receiving/issuing items, conducting a physical inventory of items, requisitioning items, receiving items, etc.)
• Utilizing a computerized inventory database system for data/tracking purposes

In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will also detail having experience performing one or more of the following:

• Working in a delivery driver role delivering items to customers at various locations
• Using warehouse equipment/machines such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and/or safety ladders
