Associate Director, Project Management

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Director of Global Program Management in Foster City, CA to oversee complex cross-functional project teams in drug development. The role involves strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and governance reporting within a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

Co-chair and coordinate complex cross-functional project team meetings and operations
Manage project data in enterprise planning systems and ensure stakeholder communication on project status
Direct team through risk identification, mitigation planning, and contingency development
Prepare governance documentation and represent teams at committee reviews and board updates
Support project lifecycle planning, phase transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

10+ years relevant experience with BS in science, OR 8+ years with MS/MBA, OR 5+ years with PhD/PharmD/DVM/MD
5 years participating in cross-functional project management activities
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development processes and project management principles
Experience managing project scope, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements
Proficiency with project management tools including Planisware and Microsoft Office
Leadership capability to influence teams without direct authority
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred
