Database Software Developer

Salary: $107,900 - 195,050 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related technical field, plus at least 8 years of relevant professional experience; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• We design, develop, test, implement, and maintain data-driven software applications that support the distribution of aeronautical information to FAA customers.
• We carry out ad hoc development work to support special projects and emerging Aeronautical Data Team needs.
• We customize, configure, and integrate commercial off-the-shelf applications being evaluated or deployed by the Aeronautical Data Team.
• We build software solutions to replace, modernize, or enhance legacy applications that need a technology refresh.
• We help evaluate, test, and validate COTS applications before deployment.
• We work with users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, clarify, and document functional and technical requirements.
• We help develop and implement new workflows that support Aeronautical Data Team projects.
• We design, develop, and maintain relational database structures, queries, stored procedures, views, functions, interfaces, and related application components.
• We translate business and operational needs into scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions.
• We troubleshoot application, database, integration, and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement lasting corrective actions.
• We create and maintain technical documentation for applications, source code, database structures, system architecture, process methods, configurations, and operational procedures.
• We take part in technical working groups, planning sessions, requirements discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and project meetings.
• We collaborate with software developers, database specialists, system administrators, analysts, testers, and FAA stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• We provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• We support software quality, cybersecurity, configuration management, and organizational development standards.
• We perform additional software and database development tasks as needed to support program and customer objectives.
