Job Title: RN CVICU-Peds Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU-Peds Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIH Certification required Must-Have: Pediatric cardiovascular ICU experience required. Description: The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a pediatric cardiovascular ICU setting. The nurse-to-patient ratio by shift is 1:1 for critical care and 1:2 for ICU status. For step down/non-ICU units, the ratio is 1:3 in overflow situations. The unit consists of a 24-bed pediatric cardiac ICU and a 12-bed overflow unit. Patients include those with congenital heart disease, post-surgical repairs, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplants, and VAD. The age range of patients extends from neonatal through young adult, including occasional adult congenital heart disease patients.
