Radiology - CT Tech

CT Technologist With limited supervision, executes computed tomography images. Gathers histories and prepares needed information to complete the patient's record. Notifies appropriate personnel for equipment services and preventive maintenance. Orders and stocks supplies. Job Responsibilities: Perform CT scans using specified protocols, including related procedures. Perform venipuncture. Conduct reconstruction of scan information to enable Radiologists to obtain further data. Produce quality images for Radiologist review. Prepare accurate records and manipulate computerized image data for interpretive information and archiving. Administer contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with department policy. Follow department protocol for all exams. Continuously monitor the patient throughout the exam. Utilize radiation protection for the patient and self. Assist Radiologist with exams when necessary. Obtain patient history, explain exam protocols, and document. Verify patient name, date of birth, and ID number. Confirm orders in the chart. Demonstrate effective communication with patients and other associates to obtain patient history and explain exam procedures. Effectively utilize electronic medical records and associated imaging systems. Complete studies in electronic medical records. Conduct quality control on equipment. Complete quality control for assigned rooms. Order and restock supplies and linens. Report all equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel. Maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal activities. Maintain records of orders, including receipt and disposal of all radioactive material in the department.
