Infection Preventionist Nurse

Heartwood Extended Health Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking an Infection Preventionist Nurse to join our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. Responsibilities Partner with the Medical Director to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and an action plan. Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, and relevant safety programs. Be accountable for surveillance of healthcare‑acquired and community‑acquired infections. Lead the facility hygiene program to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, mitigate, and control workplace conditions related to infection control and prevention. Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to the CDC NHSN system and other post‑acute care quality organizations. Ensure appropriate intervention and education occurs with staff, volunteers, and medical staff when infection trends, outbreaks, or non‑compliance to infection control/OSHA are identified. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues; understand and comply with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures. Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements Must possess a current RN or LPN license in good standing. Must have a minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
