We are Boston-based and built by people who have spent years running field exams and appraisals. This is an ownership role. The Portfolio Manager runs a dedicated block of roughly 25 to 35 borrower relationships end to end and is accountable for everything inside it: the exams, the monitoring, the client relationships, and the team doing the work. The methodology, review standards, and client playbooks you establish will become how CORA runs at scale. Role Overview The Portfolio Manager owns a portfolio of borrower relationships across CORA's lender clients, directing every engagement inside the block: field exams, AR securitization surveys, borrower onboarding, and recurring continuous monitoring. This role manages and develops a team of Client Success Leads, owns scoping and scheduling across the portfolio, critically reviews all work product before it reaches a client, and serves as the senior relationship contact for both lender credit teams and borrower executive management. The Portfolio Manager reports directly to the founding team. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Ownership: Run a block of roughly 25 to 35 borrowers as your own book. Define scopes of work based on borrower complexity, industry, and collateral type, set timelines and staffing, manage budgets, and deliver every engagement on schedule. Anticipate bottlenecks across the portfolio and reallocate resources before deadlines slip. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop Client Success Leads. Assign engagements, set expectations, review fieldwork and analysis for accuracy and completeness, deliver feedback, and build the training and best-practices program that new hires onboard into. Quality & Methodology: Critically review collateral analyses, eligibility testing, and borrowing base verification. Standardize exam procedures across AR, inventory, AP, payroll tax, and cash analysis into repeatable CORA templates, checklists, and review protocols. Lender & Borrower Relationships: Serve as the senior point of contact for lender clients on engagement findings, collateral trends, and portfolio risk. Lead executive-level conversations with borrower management, including sensitive discussions around findings, discrepancies, and access. Escalate deteriorating collateral situations to lender clients promptly and clearly. Platform Adoption & Product Input: Drive client adoption of CORA's continuous monitoring solutions across your portfolio. Work with the product and engineering team to encode exam logic, review standards, and risk signals into the platform, and shape the roadmap with what you see in the field. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business. CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation is highly beneficial. Experience: 5 or more years in ABL field examinations, collateral risk, transaction advisory, or lending operations, including experience leading or reviewing engagements and supervising analysts or associates. Portfolio Management: Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent client engagements with competing deadlines, including scoping, staffing, and on-time delivery. Technical Knowledge: Expert command of field exam procedures, collateral eligibility testing, borrowing base verification, availability calculations, and GAAP concepts including revenue recognition and reserves. Client Management: Track record as a primary client contact with lenders, credit teams, or borrower executives, including conflict resolution and sensitive communications. Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel and strong general software fluency. Comfort adopting and championing new technology is essential; this role leads by example on the CORA platform. Travel: Willingness to travel to client and borrower sites, typically 10 to 25% on average. Key Attributes Owner's Mentality: You treat your block like your own business. Nothing inside it is someone else's problem. Player-Coach: Equally comfortable reviewing a dilution calculation line by line and stepping back to run the portfolio. Early on, you will do both. Standard-Setter: High expectations for work product quality, applied consistently to your own work and your team's. Composed Under Pressure: Steady judgment when engagements collide, findings are contested, or a borrower situation deteriorates quickly. Compensation $90,000 to $125,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The responsibilities described above are representative and not exhaustive.
