What Youll Do

• Drive a mechanics truck to various job sites to repair machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment, including reclaimers, pavers, and dump trucks.
• Examine equipment and discuss with foremen or operators to determine the nature of damage or malfunction.
• Plan work procedures and possible solutions for repairs or part modifications.
• Remove, repair, or replace units and pieces such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders, and brakes.
• Rebuild parts including engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, and gear boxes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment with proper waste containment and disposal.
• Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for industrial and power equipment.
• Conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to improve performance and ensure quality control.
• Adhere to all state and federal regulations set forth by DOT, OSHA, MSHA, or other regulatory agencies.
