Social Conference Services Manager

Be the Social Architect Behind Unforgettable Events - Social Conference Services Manager Opportunity at Drake Oak Brook! Compensation: $55,000 to $68,000 per year Position Summary The primary role of a Social Conference Services Manager is to effectively coordinate and service social group events and weddings, partnering with the Sales team to ensure a smooth transition from the sales phase through the planning phase. What’s in it for you Insurance enrollment available from DAY 1 Paid time off available from DAY 1 Holiday pay available from DAY 1 Hotel and travel discounts at worldwide destinations Professional development and promotion opportunities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver excellent customer service efficiently Collaborate with the client and in‑house departments to service and coordinate all details for group‑related business from the Sales Departments Work closely with group sales managers to ensure a seamless transition of client needs Handle all details of definite groups including menu planning, upselling of food and beverage, issuing Banquet Event Orders, obtaining guarantees, changes, distribution of group resumes, VIPs, client introductions, and rooming lists Create floor plans that match the client’s vision Detail block planning, including porterage, gift bag drops, and all other special needs Manage billing procedures and related matters from the point the Sales Manager hands over the business to definite Ensure all information is accurate in Delphi to assist with rooms, food and beverage, and rental forecasting Attend weekly BEO meetings, daily business review, and weekly resume meeting Provide feedback in sales system account notes to enhance guest service and repeat business Handle billing questions, work with accounting to resolve issues, and review billing with onsite client daily to ensure accuracy Attend client meetings and, when needed, entertain clients with the Sales Manager Assist with administrative duties as required (faxing, filing, copying, scanning) Maintain accurate filing, record keeping, and data entry Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all employer/vendor information Maintain a professional appearance and uniform standards Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co‑workers and supervisors Follow all policies and procedures established by Drake Oak Brook Work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and Saturdays, to accommodate client schedules or Drake employee events Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field preferred; 1–3 years of prior Hospitality/Tourism experience in a Sales and Catering role (e.g., Catering/Sales Coordinator, Conference Services Manager). Language Skills Ability to read and interpret work documents and effectively present information and answer questions in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in English. Reasoning and Computer Skills Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret various technical instructions and present solutions; efficiently use Microsoft Office programs.
