Senior Production Manager

The Senior Production Manager leads end-to-end production operations across multiple product categories and accounts, driving on-time delivery, quality excellence, and margin performance. This role serves as the senior point of accountability for factory and vendor relationships, production execution, and team leadership—partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, and Sales to bring seasonal product to market efficiently and profitably. Key Responsibilities Own the overall production calendar and delivery strategy across assigned categories and accounts Lead and mentor a team of Production Coordinators and Assistant Production Coordinators Define and enforce production workflows, standards, and best practices across the team Proactively identify systemic risks to delivery, quality, or margin and implement corrective action plans Partner with senior leadership on capacity planning, vendor strategy, and sourcing decisions Manage and develop strategic relationships with overseas factories and vendors in Dhaka, Shanghai, and other sourcing hubs Lead factory performance reviews including on-time delivery, quality KPIs, and compliance metrics Negotiate production terms, lead times, and capacity allocations with key manufacturing partners Evaluate and onboard new factory partners in collaboration with Sourcing and Compliance teams Escalate and resolve critical production issues with urgency and accountability Order & Timeline Oversight Oversee placement and management of all production orders through Dhaka and Shanghai offices Ensure all T&A calendars are built, maintained, and adhered to across the team Monitor WIP reports and production trackers at a category level, identifying and addressing delays Approve order detail sheets, packing instructions, and packaging requirements prior to issuance Ensure alignment across POs, size scales, labeling, and retailer-specific requirements Oversee all sample stages (proto, fit, PP, TOP, Ad Samples) across the team's portfolio Ensure timely approvals for fabrics, trims, lab dips, strike-offs, and packaging Set quality standards and provide escalation support for complex technical or quality issues Review and approve care labels, hangtags, carton markings, polybag stickers, and packaging Partner with Technical Design and Compliance on garment specification compliance Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the senior production liaison to Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, and Sales Lead seasonal handoff meetings from development to production, ensuring full team alignment Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales on account-specific requirements for TJX, Burlington, BJs, Costco, and other key retailers Support costing reviews and provide input on production feasibility during the development process Reporting & Systems Maintain and present production performance reporting to senior leadership Ensure team accuracy in Blue Cherry, Datametrics, and Excel-based production tracking systems Analyze production data to surface trends, drive continuous improvement, and reduce lead times Prepare and review seasonal production recaps and post-mortems Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field preferred 7–10+ years of experience in apparel production or sourcing, with at least 2–3 years in a management or team lead role Deep expertise in garment construction, fabrics, trims, and full-cycle production processes Proven track record managing overseas vendor and factory relationships at scale Strong command of T&A calendars, WIP management, and production tracking methodologies Proficiency in Excel, PLM, Blue Cherry, Datametrics, and/or SAP systems Experience with major off-price and mass-market accounts (TJX, Burlington, BJs, Costco) strongly preferred Experience managing and developing direct reports Core Competencies Strategic thinking with strong operational execution skills Decisive leadership with the ability to drive accountability across teams and vendors Highly organized with the ability to manage complex, multi-category workloads Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills Data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Collaborative partner to cross-functional teams with a solutions-oriented mindset High sense of urgency with composure under pressure Monday–Friday, In-Office Amerex Group does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
